HIC Kitchen's Wooden Pestle is the perfect helper tool for pushing cooked foods through the mesh of a cone-shaped sieve, known as chinois. The mesh of a chinois processes cooked ingredients into smoother velvety textures with even consistencies for tastier results without any lumps. The mesh allows liquids to pass through easily but pulp needs a bit more help. This pestle fits perfectly with HIC Kitchen's Chinois #43657 (sold separately). It presses thicker cooked ingredients through the chinois mesh. Simply pulse cook ingredients in a blender, place the Chinois cone into a catch bowl to collect liquids, pour blended contents into the cone, and press the pestle into the pulp and through the mesh.
